AP Scoop Assistant Principal Gilbert- PLC Sharing

Every staff member at East is a member of a professional learning community (PLC). PLC time is designed for teachers to meet on a regular basis to share expertise and work collaboratively to improve themselves and in turn improve the academic performance of our students.   This past late start day (Feb 8), Laura Tessmer (Instructional Coach) and Amy Scharenbrock (Personalized Learning Coach) facilitated an activity for all PLC groups at East to share their professional goal for the year, update their progress, and reflect on next steps for the second half of the school year. Prior to the late start morning, each PLC group used Flipgrid (tech tool) to video tape a summary of their goal along with reflections of how their learning has impacted their classroom and instruction.  On the late start morning, all of the PLC groups gathered in our Learning Center and viewed the Flipgrid videos that highlighted the work of other PLC groups.  Staff were also given the opportunity to share... Showcase of Talent Night

Hello CMSE Families! The annual Showcase of Talent Night is just around the corner.  Please join us on Tuesday, March 6th from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. to see artwork displays throughout the building, and hear musical performances from band, orchestra, and choir.  There will be food available to purchase in the commons.  Click here for music schedule and other information. Also on this night, families have the opportunity to test drive brand new Ford vehicles for our Drive 4UR School fundraiser.  It takes about 10 minutes and for each test drive, Ford donates $20 to our school. History Day at CMSE

Students are getting very excited about presenting their History Day projects for the upcoming school showcase on Thursday, February 15th. There will be high school students here giving direct authentic feedback, which will help students that want to move on in the competition have a better opportunity to prepare. District Jazz Festival

The District 112 Jazz Festival will be February 10th at Chaska High School. All of the middle school and high school jazz bands will receive clinics from distinguished jazz musicians and educators throughout the day, and there will be a finale concert at 7:00 pm in the Chaska High School auditorium. The concert will feature the CMSE 7th and 8th grade jazz band, the East and West 6th grade jazz band, and other jazz bands from our district.
