MCA Testing – Reading @ CMSE
Mar 13 – Mar 14 all-day

Testing season is almost here!  Your child will be participating in the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment (MCA III) in the month of March. MCA Reading will be administered on Monday, March 13th and Tuesday, March 14th. MCA Math will be given on Monday, March 20th and Tuesday, March 21st. Your child should have specific testing times and locations provided to them in March. Due to our testing schedule for Math MCA’s, some students may miss a particular class. Teachers are aware of this, and will make necessary accommodations.

Science MCA’s will be administered for 8th Grade students only on May 3rd & 4th. The purpose of these tests is to measure student achievement in Reading and Math, and determine how well our curriculum and instruction is aligned to state standards. This assessment is a requirement of the Minnesota Department of Education and given annually in grades 3-8.

Please make every effort to have your child in school and on time during these testing days. Students not in school during these times will need to make up the test at a later date. A good night’s sleep and adequate breakfast is highly encouraged during these days. Encourage your child to do their very best throughout the assessments. Reminders will be sent out closer to the testing dates. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding this assessment.
